SSO 2024 Annual Meeting

Meeting registration includes in-person attendance, as well as access to select sessions posted for on-demand viewing post conference.

CME Credit will not be offered for session recordings that will be available on-demand post conference.

*Guest/Spouse registration includes Wednesday Welcome Reception, Thursday Happy Hour and SSO HUB access. Spouse/Guest registration is restricted to networking and social events only and is not to be used as full conference registration.

This hands-on course will include lectures from leaders in the field on technical approaches, training and learning curve considerations and tips on starting a robotic program.  Hands on didactics utilizing cadavers, live animal surgeries, and biotissue anastomotic drills will educate participants on necessary operative steps and develop the robotic skillset to complete pancreatic, liver and gastric resections with direct feedback from robotic HPB/UGI experts. The course is designed for faculty who have preliminary robotic case experience but seek to perform more complex hepatobiliary and upper gastrointestinal procedures. Lunch and Bus transportation included.

Plenary Speaker: Martha A. Zieger, MD, National Cancer Institute

This workshop is intended to provide SSO members and junior faculty with education and support on the grant writing process. Faculty will moderate and organize an interactive session touching on numerous aspects of the grant writing process, including lunch with the faculty. This will include federal and non-federal funding, grantsmanship, mentoring, and other topics important to establish a career as a surgeon scientist.

This session encompasses advances in IO and the integration of immunotherapies into the field of surgical oncology.
